Open Vein

Its raining so hard, dear
Teardrops from your eyes
Splatter onto my cheeks
You can't hold back now
(You can't hold back anymore)

Like in the summer when we
We traveled down the road
I saw you in the fall
On your own, by yourself
(Bloody footprints you left behind)

This scar upon my neck
So deep and dreadfully red
It takes the pain for you instead

This open vein it courses
My own dwindling life forces
I'd see my death so you could live

Everything changed colors
Everything fell away
But I saw in black and white
And it was mostly black
(Black as ice unbeknown)

Inside you burst open at every seam
Walls fall, foundations crack
And the oceans crash upon your head
But you're already dead, my love
(Already dead! And for so long)

This scar upon my neck
So deep and dreadfully red
It takes the pain for you instead

This open vein it courses
My own dwindling life forces
I'd see my death so you could live

I found composure in a bed of thorns
I feel right at home
But you won't sleep there
No, you won't sleep there with me
(You find no comfort in where you've been)

The nights drag on as I curse your memory
Aching begins when I think
How the needle sets you free
It sets you free indeed
(This is my greatest fear)

This scar upon my neck
So deep and dreadfully red
It takes the pain for you instead

This open vein it courses
My own dwindling life forces
I'd see my death so you could live

Why this blog

is called "Atypical Stereotype".

Well, its a song by an awesome band called Dӓlek. Avant-Hip Hop duo, MC Dӓlek and "The Oktopus". Off their most recent album "Gutter Tactics". Highly recommended. Lyrics below.

Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals
Don't expect progress, the movement's all lateral
Upward climb result in heinous crime.
Talkin' Tulsa '21, May 31
Burnt Black Wall Street behind some pale sheets
Shit is weak
Historically, Events remain cyclical
Stories so typical the tears run dry
Sip the Iron Wine as poetic device
Quick to link thought like when tape get spliced
What I call a good time?
My hood and three dice
Ol' Gold got this kid real nice
I'm a atypical stereotype

Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals

They got enamored with the glamour, lost sight of our plight
Doesn't take proper grammar to be able to write
Harsh truth always heard between the lines I recite
Change the world and I'll change my gripes
Change the world and I'll change my gripes
Sip the Iron wine at such great heights I ain't conscious
Speak for the paupers, griots, and the authors

Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals

They got enamored with the glamour, lost sight of our plight
Doesn't take proper grammar to be able to write
Harsh truth always heard

Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals
Change the world and I'll change my gripes.
Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals

Sip the Iron wine at such great heights I ain't conscious
Speak for the paupers, griots, and the authors

Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals
Sip the Iron wine at such great heights I ain't conscious
Speak for the paupers, griots, and the authors
Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals

Sip the Iron wine at such great heights I ain't conscious
Speak for the paupers, griots, and the authors
Diseased try to lead? They lost us
Truth stay intangible, they treat us like animals

Hello everything/Song of the day(s)

I haven't posted in awhile. This is because I no longer have consistent internet, due to the fact that I no longer live at home. I am currently staying with my friend Alex (three cheers), who has no internet. Every once and again, however, I do come home to use the internetz. So just a heads up.

Also, song of the last several days is most definitely the entire new Converge album, "Axe To Fall". Its just awesome. Here's a few samples:

Cheers.

Gigantic Brain's "Burn"

Today's (or yesterday's, or whatever) song of the day. Gigantic Brain is the world's only one-man sci-fi based ambient grind band, and they are the only one the world needs (trust me). However, the BRAIN has gotten "smarter" since their last release, "World", and has offered a much more interesting release with the brand new "I Swallow 16 Red Planets". This shit just fucking tears me apart. In it is more fusion of his very different genre aspirations than previously, and it works nicely for him. Distorted, other-worldly vocals over hideously robotic blast beats at the speed of HOLY SHIT with an indiscernible guitar chugging over the top will occasionally flow seamlessly (how'd he do that?) into a very calming ambient passage which might morph into an even post-rock/metal/grind(?) moment, and then right back to the beginning again. By the time you're done listening to the new album, it won't even surprise you anymore that the guy behind this music is a raging insomniac. Highly recommended, especially if you like sci-fi, take a lot of drugs, or have ADD. Which could explain why I like them so much. myspace.com/giganticbrain
