Is the song of the day for this day, September 26th, 2009. Skin was a band that consisted of the two staple members of renowned noise-rock pioneers SWANS (myspace.com/blackswansblackswans), Michael Gira and Jarboe. SWANS were known for basically being a brutally cacophonic wail of utter despair, and Skin is more or less a lighter version, one that is about 1/3rd the density, and twice as melodic, without losing the wail of despair factor. They released two albums, both long out of print, and then changed their name to World Of Skin, and releasing a compilation album of the two albums together in 1988, intertwining songs sung by Michael Gira and songs sung by Jarboe. Its excellent and not overly complicated, and not too simple either. Great music for those eager to fall into a pit of absolute desolation. This song in particular is sung by Jarboe, and played by Michael Gira. Its one of their more melodic pieces, and a fine one at that. Off the compilation album, "The World Of Skin". There's blood on your hands, baby
Baby, there's blood on your hands
Mama's gonna get even with you
Mama's gonna get you back
When all the blood's washed over you
Mama will never forget
Mama loves you too much, baby
Mama loves you too much to cry
Mama loves her darling boy
She'll hold you close in her arms
Mama's gonna wash his sweet body
Mama loves you too much to cry
Mama loves you too much, baby
Mama loves you too much to cry
Baby, there's blood on your hands
Mama's gonna get even with you
Mama's gonna get you back
When all the blood's washed over you
Mama will never forget
Mama loves you too much, baby
Mama loves you too much to cry
Mama loves her darling boy
She'll hold you close in her arms
Mama's gonna wash his sweet body
Mama loves you too much to cry
Mama loves you too much, baby
Mama loves you too much to cry
